Child Safety

The safety and wellbeing of every child is the highest priority at St Catherine of Siena.

We uphold the Victorian Government’s 11 Child Safe Standards (2022), which form the foundation of our approach to creating a secure and nurturing environment for all students.

Our school’s commitment reflects the principles of the Catholic Education Commission of Victoria (CECV), ensuring that the care, safety and dignity of children remain central to our mission, as inspired by the teachings of Jesus Christ. We maintain an absolute zero-tolerance policy toward child abuse in strict compliance with Ministerial Order No. 1359.

To remain compliant with these standards, all staff and volunteers are required to follow a comprehensive Code of Conduct. Our Child Safety Strategies provide clear policies and procedures for every school activity, from classroom learning to excursions, sporting events and special activities. Every adult involved in child-connected work – whether teaching assistants, sports coaches, event helpers or volunteers – must fully understand and commit to their safeguarding responsibilities.

At St Catherine of Siena, we actively foster a culture where every child feels safe, respected and valued in all aspects of school life.
